When your daughter is in crisis or struggling,
it's hard to understand what's happening to her and to your family. It can be even harder to know where to turn for answers and support.

New Horizons for Young Women has helped hundreds of girls with all sorts of challenges — from low self-esteem, academic underachievement and motivation issues to eating disorders, drug and alcohol experimentation and depression to physical aggression, defiance, self-abuse and sexual promiscuity.

We don't do it through deprivation or scare tactics. Instead, we provide a nurturing environment and teach responsible behaviors through no-frills wilderness expeditions, group and individual clinical therapy sessions and emotional growth.

Congratulations to New Horizons For Young Women!
Recipients of the Woodbury Reports, Inc. “Excellence in Education Award” are selected on the basis of their excellent reputation for producing positive and consistent results with at-risk children and their families. Each year a network of Independent Educational Consultants who specialize in referrals for adolescents with special needs is surveyed for their recommendations.

        Why New Horizons?

We're not a survival camp,        but a 6-9 week therapy        intervention program that        empowers young women,        ages 13-18

We're nestled in the heart        of peaceful Downeast        Maine, where summers are        spectacular and winters        are truly a wonderland

We help girls find inner        peace — and a sense of        accomplishment — through        the challenge and beauty        of nature

We see real change —        improved self-esteem,        acceptance of boundaries,        and positive shifts in        academics, attitudes and        relationships
